This hyper-tuned Cadillac has been revealed as the world’s fastest family car--with a top speed of 389 km/h (242 mph).
The incredible CTS-V will outsprint any Lamborghini, Ferrari or Porsche ever built with only a handful of supercars quicker.
It is the work of Texan tuner John Hennessey - who saw a recent claim made by the boss of Bugatti as a challenge.
CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said Bugatti's forthcoming Galibier model will be the fastest four-seater in the world, capable of more than 378 km/h
So Hennessey, who runs Hennessey Performance, shoehorned a 7-litre V8 engine and twin turbochargers under the bonnet of the Cadillac.
He also fitted a number of modifications so the humble American car can cope with the engine's titanic 1,244bhp and 1,109lb/ft of torque.
The result is a madcap motor which will accelerate from 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 389 km/h.
Only a handful of million-pound motors are capable of topping this speed but the tuned Cadillac is available as a four-seat coupe, saloon and even an estate.
John said: "I’ve owned several Cadillac CTS-Vs over the past few years, all of them modified to 700bhp.
"But I wanted to build something really special and much more powerful.
"Bugatti seems to be hinting that their upcoming sedan will be the 'fastest four-seater' in the world and faster than any tuner car.
"We'd be glad to bring one of our VR1200 Twin Turbos to the VW test track at Ehra-Lessien to see which one is faster."
The Hennessey-tuned Cadillac CTS-V will be limited to just 12 models and cost around $300,000.
