Debut of Aston concept
- Shane O' Donoghue
Got about $2,4 million burning a hole in your pocket and you're not sure whether to invest in a piece of art or a supercar? Well, Aston Martin reckons it has the answer to your prayers in the form of its new One-77, which will make its world debut in 'full concept' format today (April 24) at the Concorso d'Eleganza in Italy.

The annual event, held next to Lake Como in Italy, is an exclusive gathering of some of the most beautiful (and expensive) classic cars in the world. The car makers have cottoned onto the fact that the event is crawling with well-heeled prospective buyers and hence more new cars and specifically concepts have become part of the occasion in recent years.
We've already seen the Aston One-77 in a 'technical display' at this year's Geneva Show, but the Concorso d'Eleganza marks the concept's world debut in fully working format.
That means visitors will get to pore over the eagerly anticipated bespoke interior and hopefully they'll also get to hear the V12 engine, as the show car will feature a working powertrain.
Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez said: 'The One-77 demonstrates the unique capabilities of our company - it encompasses engineering excellence with a great passion from our engineers, designers and technical partners.

'The craftsmanship and design that has gone into the creation of the Aston Martin One-77 lifts automotive engineering into the realm of art. With its finely sculpted forms and sleek lines, it is an expression of unparalleled beauty that embodies everything Aston Martin stands for.'
There is still no final word on when the first of the 77 lucky buyers will take delivery of their cars, but it should be before the end of 2009.
