Small but perfectly formed

- Kyle Fortune
Small but perfectly formedCrowd pleaser or motoring teaser?

The Alfa stand is always a crowd pleaser at a motor show and the British event is no different. Sure, Alfa's range is well represented, the new Cloverleaf GT and Brera S models on show alongside the stunning 8C Competizione and 8C Spider, but it's the little MiTo that is undoubtedly the most important car here for the Italian firm.

Stand out features?

Style. More of it than any supermini rival. The MiTo is achingly pretty, it looking sensational on the Alfa Romeo stand at ExCeL. It'll look even better out on the road where its neat proportions and beautiful detailing will ensure it attracts admiring attention wherever you drive it. Cool LED tail lights, flared wheel arches and that deep, plunging front grille framed by 8C-esque headlamps make this a supermini for the style-conscious, it promising to drive well too with a host of driver aids.

Showroom soon or never to be seen?

It might look like a concept, but the car that's on display on Alfa's stand here at ExCeL is the car you'll be able to buy soon. Pre-ordering starts in October, with deliveries expected to begin early in the New Year.
