October is Breast Cancer awareness month, and everyone is trying to play a part in raising consciousness for this cause. Various companies have been painting special edition pink cars to help raise awareness. And sometimes a car happens to be pink, but seeing it makes us mindful for the cause. Here are ten pink cars that bring attention to a Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A pink Bugatti is a bold statement. Upon closer inspection, it is a combination of gloss and matte finished, which allows for the “Awareness Ribbon” design on the hood.
The latest generation of the Land Rover Range Rover has been out for nary a year and the tuning world has already gotten their mitts on it. This Range Rover has been tuned by Hamann and features a mirror-like pink paint on the sides, while the roof covered in a matte-pink finish.
This car was created with the sole target of raising 1 million for Breast Cancer Care. The FAB1 Ghost is available to rent to be driven around and for events. All the proceeds from renting the FAB1 Ghost go to Breast Cancer Care.
This is a cut-down version of the Fiat 500 and is a popular island car. In Italy, it is known as “La Spiaggina,” which loosely translates into “beach-ette.” This pink hue was actually one of the originally available colors, which included coral, pale yellow, sky blue and white.
Not all of the pink cars here were painted so with the intention of raising awareness for an important cause. Who knows why this Opel Corsa was painted pink, but it made headlines when it slammed into a brand new Aston Martin DBS. It’s pink, and in the news, which is good enough for us.
This special 500 was apparently created for Barbie’s birthday, and features a striking shade of pink. It also features a glove box full of lip-gloss and crystals on the wheels, interior bezels and outer window moldings.
Chevy ran this Pink Camaro as the official pace vehicle at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2012. Every time there is a caution, the pace car needs to be out on the track, so for every lap that the pace car completed, Chevrolet made a donation to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative.
Chevrolet SS Pink NASCAR:
Earlier this month, at the Hollywood Casino 400 in Kansas, Danica Patrick ran a bright pink Chevrolet SS racecar. The car also ran at Charlotte, Talladega and Martinsville. Considering the typical NASCAR track seats more than 100,000 race fans– that’s a lot of folks who got to see this pink car. GoDaddy, Danicka’s sponsor, also donated $50,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Cars of the Pink Car Rally:
Over in the UK, those with pink cars got together for a group drive through various parts of England. The ride was to raise awareness and funds for the Little Princess Trust, which helps provide wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. The 2013 edition of the event was held on the 7th and 8th of September. Do date they have raised more than 16,000 which will pay for 45 wigs.
KRIS Pink Camaro Raffle:
Television station KRIS in Corpus Christi, TX is raffling off a pink Chevrolet Camaro. Tickets are $10, and the drawing takes place at 5pm on Thursday. All proceeds form raffle tickets go toward the American Cancer Society.
